Hello, Analy Community—
Our school has a lot to be proud of in its Advanced Placement program. Last year we had 13 students receive an AP capstone diploma—and Analy is the only place in the county with this opportunity. We currently offer 19 different AP courses, and we were honored this past school year as an AP Honor Roll School. This means that:
40% or more of the graduating cohort took at least 1 AP Exam during high school.
25% or more of the graduating cohort scored a 3 or higher on at least 1 AP Exam during high school.
2% or more of the graduating cohort took 5 or more AP Exams during high school, with at least 1 of those exams taken in 9th or 10th grade.
While our AP program is strong, we also offer an increasing number of other ways for students to earn meaningful credits, credentials, and certifications that give them a leg up as they take their next steps. Here are some of the ways we are working to provide all of our students with valuable credentials that they can take with them when they leave Analy high school.
Early College Credit programs at the school have expanded significantly. The school has established Articulation Agreements with the Santa Rosa Junior College for our Culinary 3 and Hospitality courses, and we are pursuing renewed or initial agreements in Dance, Computer Science, and more. In addition, this semester students are participating in Dual Enrollment opportunities here on our campus with two SRJC Agriculture classes taught by our own teachers—with more planned for next semester. Our new Work Experience Class has two sections of students who are co-enrolling in either Work Experience or Internship courses at SRJC, and gaining valuable experience in the workplace in addition to college credit. Our Globally Proficient Scholars program has dozens of students eligible to earn college credit in the SRJC Volunteer Service course.
In addition to the opportunities available to students in the new Work Experience course, students are also participating in internships—both on and off campus—as part of several other programs here. For example, students are pursuing “in-house” internships in Wellness and Stagecraft. Additionally, a number of our Sports medicine students will be able to complete internships as part of a partnership with professional trainers from Corrective Exercise and Restoration who will be working with our sports teams.
Analy also offers various certification opportunities. Our Hospitality students are earning a certificate from the Accredited Hospitality Program of Sonoma County Tourism. Culinary and Farm to Table students are earning Food Handler's certificates. Sports Medicine students are earning CPR and first aid certificates, while Agricultural Mechanics students are obtaining lifetime OSHA 10 certificates, and Computer Applications students will earn Microsoft certifications in the Spring. Additionally, students in our Work Experience classes will complete the Sonoma County Office of Education’s Work-ready Certificate program in the Spring.
Our Workability Program currently has nine small student groups accompanied by school employees working at various community sites for 2-10 hours per week. These placements include locations such as Laguna High School, Community Market, Pacific Market, Round Table Pizza, WSCUHSD District Office, Harmony Farm, Andy's Produce, Ceres Kitchen/The Harvest Cafe at Sebastopol Senior Center, and Ace Hardware. These students earn wages paid through the WorkAbility Grant, the We Can Work contract with DOR, or the PIP Program through NBRC. The program also facilitates after-school job placements for students with wages covered by the We Can Work contract.
These are just a few of the efforts underway at Analy to ensure that ALL of our students have meaningful credentials, in addition to their Analy High School Diploma, once they leave our school.

Here's some info about our trainers:
This much needed service is being provided by Dr. Moni Syeda, a Sebastopol resident, and her team of PhD level Certified Athletic Trainers from Corrective Exercise & Restoration.
Dr. Syeda and her team have already been working with many of our athletes over the past few years at both their Sebastopol and Santa Rosa clinics, many at no cost at all through their non-profit organization, called ARC, which was specifically set up to provide needed medical attention for underserved youth and their athletic injuries. Dr. Syeda has also been an incredible partner and asset to our growing CTE Sports Medicine Program over the past three years, joining our industry professional advisory committee, giving presentations to classes, clinic tours, job shadows, and even hosting two paid internships each semester for our pathway students to get on-the-job experience and earn early college credit! We are so lucky to be joined by this fantastic team of amazing medical professionals and downright wonderful human beings. You can learn more about them and what they do by visiting their website at:https://correctiveexerciseandrestoration.com/
Documents:
Please take a moment to download, print, and fill out the two attached documents found in the Google Drive folder below, and return them to Mr. Hamblin in Annex 5. It is imperative that anyone who may need treatment fill these out and return them signed by parents! Without these documents our trainers will legally be limited to injury evaluation only, so to recieve all of the amazing benefits they are providing these must be filled out.

Academic Support has been up to a lot this last month! We've discussed how to prioritize things using an Eisenhower Matrix (this video is a great refresher for students).
Students have also developed SMART Goals! And we've discussed the dreaded "Curve of Forgetting". Did you know that most people forget 50% of the information they learn within 24hrs? Repetition & review help to flatten out this curve. Review your notes THAT day & then twice a week after that for best retention. Study smarter, not harder!
