SCIENCE

Analy High School offers a robust and diverse selection of science options for our students.

What's required:

ALL students must take one Biology and one Physical Science course to graduate. Students interested in going to a 4 year college right after graduation should take a minimum of 3 years of science.

How to fulfill requirements:

Students may pursue a variety of science course sequences, all of which are college preparatory, and all of which meet Next Generation Science Standards.

One recommended sequence would be Biology --> Physics --> Chemistry. In this sequence, students can satisfy both AHS science graduation requirements and also earn a third year of science credit, as recommended by UCs and CSUs. They can pursue AP or Honors classes to earn a higher GPA and receive college credit by successfully passing the AP exam; they can also pursue additional science subjects like AP Environmental Science and Anatomy and Physiology after completing these intro level courses.

We also offer some CTE-based science classes, including the Agriscience pathway. In Agriscience, students progress from Ag Bio to Ag Chemistry to Advanced Sustainable Agriculture. This last course is made up of two SRJC classes: ANSCI 20 (Animal Science) and AGRI 20 (Plant Science). Students take these classes on Analy's campus and earn free early college credit for passing them.

Students may also mix and match between the different sequence offerings illustrated below:

Science 1

Science 2

Science 3
