At last month's Board meeting, the Board approved a one-year tentative agreement (TA) between the district and the West Sonoma County Teachers Association (WSCTA). The result of the TA means that Analy and Laguna teachers will be paid higher than the state average and the highest in Sonoma County!
Superintendent Chris Meredith wrote an article for the Sebastopol Times titled "The Win-Win Contract for the District and Teachers Union—A Deep Dive." In it, he explained how the district was able to be creative with its salary schedule to afford the increased pay for our teachers. "Ensuring that we have the highest-paid high school teachers in Sonoma County was a priority for our District and also a great way of celebrating the amazing work that we have accomplished in recent years," Meredith said.
He then dove into the specifics regarding prior negotiations between the district and WSCTA. Meredith provided charts to help clearly explain how our West Sonoma County Union High School District agreed with our Teacher's Association. Read the full article linked above.
