We proudly introduce the Only in West County website, which houses our 2023-2024 student-made Only in West County films for your viewing!
Only in West County is an Analy student film festival and new tradition. Last year, our Film and Video teacher, Randy Hall, Film & Literature teacher, Seth Gleckman, and Work-Based Learning Coordinator, Stacy Fortin, came up with this collaborative project to inspire our students to be creative, collaborate, and gain real-world experience in every aspect of video making. The project was a massive success in year one and came back this year bigger and better thanks to student demand and industry partners.
Only in West County premiers in April, with students showing their final projects on the big screens at the Rialto Cinema. This year, there was even a specialty "Only in West County" menu for the showings. Students beamed with pride upon arrival at the theater as they finally got to see their hard work and visions come to fruition and share their projects with their loved ones. For months, they had a hand in every aspect of the project, from writing scripts to filming videos, editing them, and even creating promotional materials for their videos and the event. Pictured below are the promotional posters for each of the films.
Indigo, an Only in West County film from last year, was shown at the International Burbank Film Festival this year and even won the "Best High School Film" award this month at the AVFilm Student Film Competition. Our students continue to amaze us with their work ethic and creativity. Please take the time to view our Only in West County website and give kudos to the kids who played a role in this incredible project!
