District Breaks Ground on New
Career Technical Education Building for Analy High School
Sebastopol, Calif., Apr. 2, 2025 – Construction has now begun on a new Career Technical Education (CTE) Building at Analy High School (Analy) in the West Sonoma County Union High School District (WSCUHSD). Designed by Quattrocchi Kwok Architects (QKA) and being built by GCCI, the new facility will provide students with spaces to develop valuable skills in areas such as engineering, welding, design thinking, culinary arts and agricultural sciences. The project has been funded through local Measure A bond funds.
“This new facility represents a significant investment in our students’ futures,” said Chris Meredith, superintendent of WSCUHSD. “These modern, well-equipped spaces will allow students to explore their passions and develop the specialty skills needed for success. Thank you to the community for its continuous support in making this project a reality, and our dedicated project team for guiding us through this process.”
Analy’s new 15,000 sq.ft. CTE Building will feature a super fabrication studio equipped with various welding equipment, a collaboration room, an innovative technology classroom, a science classroom, a prep room, an agricultural classroom, a culinary classroom with adjoining auxiliary spaces, three flex classrooms, utility spaces, storage, two staff restrooms, and a gender-neutral restroom. It is designed to exceed Title 24 energy requirements.
QKA Principal Kevin Chapin added, “We are proud to partner with the West Sonoma County Union High School District on this transformative project. We aim to foster innovation through design and these spaces will facilitate the expansion of important career-readiness programming on campus.” In addition to the new classrooms and workspaces, the project will also include adjacent site improvements, paving and landscaping that will extend from the new building to the existing cafeteria, creating a cohesive and welcoming campus environment.
WSCUHSD’s director of facilities, bond & technology, Jennie Bruneman, along with Denise Fisher, coordinator of facilities and bond, have been an integral part of the design and planning of the project that has included close collaboration with Analy administrators and teachers, district-hired consultants, and the design and construction teams. The district's female-led facilities team will manage all aspects of construction administration for the new $27M facility. The new CTE Building is expected to open in Fall 2026.
